Fundraising – Information

The Scout Association is a registered charity (No. 306101 (England and Wales), and great scouting requires sufficient funds to run camps, take part in visits and provide badges etc.

We actively work to raise funds for the Group’s development and the money we raise also goes towards maintenance and purchase of equipment, training for our young people and leaders as well as specific projects.

The Group has a dedicated Fundraising Committee which aims to meet several times over the year to plan events.

Regular events that the Committee are involved in are:

Swindon Scout Christmas Post

North Swindon Community Fun Day

Lydiard Park Fireworks

Scout Community Week

Archery sessions at local school fetes

Annual Carol Service

 The Group welcomes any donations from individuals or companies/organisations and actively applies for grants when they become available and appropriate.
