For young people aged 6 to 8
Beavers is where the adventure begins. Our youngest members make friends, play games, try new things and get their first taste of the outdoors, all in a safe, welcoming and fun environment.
Beavers meet in packs across North Swindon. Use Find Your Section to see local options near you.
Find your section →Beavers wear a turquoise sweatshirt and a Group scarf (necker). No uniform is needed for the first few sessions, so there's no rush. We can point you to new and second-hand options.
Subscriptions are typically £3 to 5 per week, covering weekly meetings, activities and insurance. Camps and special events cost extra. We never want cost to be a barrier, please talk to us if you need support.
Beavers enjoy day trips and their first sleepovers as they get older. Everything is fully risk-assessed and led by trained, DBS-checked volunteers.
Every child is welcome. Tell us about any additional needs or support that would help and we'll talk it through confidentially, there's no need to share medical detail up front.
Every young person is welcome at Beavers. See our inclusion and support page, or talk to us in confidence.
Your child is warmly welcomed and paired with existing Beavers. Expect games, meeting the leaders, and getting to know everyone. No uniform needed for the first session.
Not usually, but you're welcome to settle your child in. Leaders will let you know the drop-off and pick-up routine for your colony.
